Marnie Temple

arriving at now by Marnie Temple

Marnie Temple is a multidisciplinary artist who works primarily with textiles. ‘arriving at now’ is part of her MFA thesis from Emily Carr University of Art and Design. The work draws on her African and European heritage and her research into the transatlantic slave trade. In this exhibition she imagines an enslaved past via letters to her ancestors realized as large-scale textile drawings and soft-sculpture installations.
